In Shopify, tags are labels or keywords used to categorize and organize products, blog posts, and content, simplifying searching and filtering within your online store.

Creating Tags in GemHub for Shopify

Log in to GemHub

Access your GemHub account.

Navigate to "Products and Manage Attributes

Click on Product

Go to the right-hand dropdown menu

Select Manage Attributes

Define "Tags" Attribute

Create a new attribute named tags in lowercase.

Choose the Dropdown type.

Enable Allow multiple values

Enter Shopify Tags

Add your Shopify tags in the custom values section. It's recommended to sort them alphabetically and add them one by one.

Arrange Tags

Drag and drop to arrange tags as desired.

Save Attribute Settings

Click Done to save the attribute settings.

Assign Tags to Products

When editing a product in GemHub, select relevant tags.

Save Product

Click Save to save the product with assigned tags.


Syncing Tags

Access Integration

Go to Integrations, click on Setup in Shopify and select your store.

Click Login to activate the integration, and the 'tags' attribute will be displayed.

Sync GemHub Products

To sync, click on Start Syncing

Wait for the synchronization process to complete.

View Synced Products in Shopify:

In Shopify, navigate to Products

You'll see that products from GemHub have been synced to Shopify.

Manage Tags:

Tags will be ported to the products under the related SKU.

Keep the "gemlight_hub" tag to enable future tag porting during new syncs.
